Carlson, Marjorie A (Schlink) age 90, passed away July 23, 2020. Preceded in death by beloved husband of 34 years, Oscar Carlson, parents Otto & Marie Schlink, siblings Joan, Clifford (Kip), and Charlotte (Patsy), daughter-in-law Julie Carlson and grandson Jonathan Schulze. She grew up in Minneapolis, raised her family in Richfield and Burnsville, spent several years living at Realife Co-op in Burnsville followed by a move to stay with daughter Susan in Cincinnati, OH and most recently in memory care at Meadow Woods in Bloomington.
Marjorie was a graduate of South High (’47) and kept in touch with classmate Cathy Boyd through the years. She was all about family, from the hectic, everyday chaos, to little league games, band concerts, board games, picnics, vacations, and hosting large family holiday gatherings. She was an avid seamstress, loved reading and crossword puzzles and participated in neighborhood and church bridge clubs. After losing Oscar 33 years ago, she tried several different crafts, started a sizable thimble collection and learned how to do email and play video games. She enjoyed traveling with her siblings and children and also took care of many of her grandchildren.
Survived by brother James Schlink; sons and daughters: Joel Carlson, Linda (Ed) Wright, John (Eileen) Carlson, Susan (John) Zier, Nancy (Matthew) Hozouri, Theresa (Carter) Anderson, Jeffrey (Sarah Leininger) Carlson, James (Tammy Quady) Carlson, Jason (Sessie) Carlson; grandchildren: Kevyn Carlson, Mike (Kari) Nelson, Crystal (Jon) Blaha, Sarah (Lee) Kelly, Travis (Danielle) Schulze, Jennifer Carlson, Joshua Carlson, Andrew (Alyson) Zier, Adam Zier, Stephanie Zier (Casey Short), Alden Hozouri, Ashton Hozouri, Alexa Hozouri, Kian Hozouri, Cameron Hozouri, Sara (Caleb) DeVries, Amy (Ben) Cloud, Luke Anderson, Danielle (Winston) Leininger-Scott, Tyler Carlson, Quincy Carlson, Braeden Carlson, Fiona Carlson; great grandchildren: Hailey Nelson, Ella Lewandowski, Landon Blaha, Madeline Blaha, Teagan Kelly, Annika Kelly, Patterson Kelly, Jameson Kelly, Quinn Schulze, Kaley Russell-Schulze, Jonathan Schulze Doran, Andrea Zier, Austyn Zier, Alaura Zier, Lena DeVries, Cullen Cloud, RaeLyn Leininger-Scott and many other relatives and friends. She was dearly loved and she, along with her infectious smile, will be greatly missed.
Service Thursday, July 30, 2020, 9 AM at Risen Savior Church, 1501 E County Road 42, Burnsville followed by interment, 11 AM at Ft Snelling, visitation 1 hour prior to service (masks are required). Sadly, due to Covid19, the church has informed us there can be no public viewing.Memorials to donor's favorite local charity – Marjorie’s preference was Sharing & Caring Hands.
